FAQ & Boundaries in Coaching

Do you have questions about the coaching process, how we work together, or where the boundaries of coaching lie? Here you'll find answers – for more clarity and orientation.

What does a coaching process with me look like?

You’re welcome to schedule a free initial consultation (via phone or video call) to see if we’re a good fit. We’ll talk about your current situation, clarify any practical questions, and maybe even take a first step in a new direction.
After that, you can take your time to decide – no pressure at all. You’ll find an overview of possible coaching topics here.

What happens in a coaching session?

I work with the COACH model (developed by Christopher Rauen & Andreas Steinhübel, link in German), which offers structure while remaining flexible and individualized:

  • C – Come Together (Connecting & Arriving): We begin with a warm welcome and a short check-in.

  • O – Orientation (Clarifying the Topic): You’ll have the space to explore what matters most right now.

  • A – Analysis (Recognizing Causes & Connections): Together, we explore inner and outer influences to gain clarity about what’s really going on. Some situations are more complex than they appear – and deeper roots often come to light during this phase.

  • C – Change (Developing & Implementing Solutions): We create sustainable strategies that you can apply in your daily life.

  • H – Harbour (Anchoring Results): We reflect on what you’ve learned and what has proven helpful – and define meaningful next steps.

How do I find the right coach for me?

Coaching is a deeply personal process – the chemistry has to be right.

  • You should feel seen and understood, not boxed into a standard formula.
  • A good coach asks the right questions rather than offering ready-made answers.

Methods and approach should feel like a fit.

  • Some coaches work strictly methodically or solution-oriented; others offer a more in-depth process.
  • Ask yourself: Am I looking for a quick impulse – or for deep, holistic support?

Trust your gut – and speak with the coach in an informal first session.

  • This gives you a feel for their style and energy.
  • You can then decide in peace whether it feels right for you.

If you’d like to find out whether my approach resonates with you, feel free to reach out – we’ll figure it out together.

How many coaching sessions will I need & how long is the process?

The number of sessions is entirely individual. We decide together as we go – with full flexibility.
The 3-month intensive coaching program "Follow Your Inner Voice", however, follows a more structured process. We typically meet online once a week.
By the way: I also offer evening and Saturday appointments.

How long is a coaching session?

Regular coaching sessions last 90 minutes – enough time to explore your topic in depth.
Soul Plan sessions are about 2 hours and include a recording so you can revisit it afterward.
If adjustments are needed, we’ll talk about them in advance.

What does coaching cost?

Coaching is a private, self-funded service – unlike therapy.
To take your individual situation into account, we’ll discuss the investment personally.
Tip: In some cases (check German tax regulations), coaching costs may be claimed as professional expenses in your tax return.

What's your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel, please give at least 48 hours’ notice so I can offer the slot to someone else.
Otherwise, I reserve the right to charge part or all of the session fee.

Where does the coaching take place – online oder in person?

The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and we can work without interruptions.
Online: Works very well with only a few limitations.
In-person in Cologne: In Nippes – with good public transport and parking.
Coaching in nature (Cologne Stadtwald):For anyone who thinks more clearly while walking.

Coaching vs. Therapy – what's the difference?

Coaching is intended for people who generally have access to their inner resources and are able to manage their daily lives. Coaching is not psychotherapy.
Therapy is for treating mental illness or the psychological effects of physical illness.
If we discover that therapy would be more appropriate, I’ll gladly help you find a suitable therapist.
